July is a big month for local Brissy legend, Soda Mouf! As well as featuring in our launching exhibition on July 15, Soda Mouf is also fronting a solo-exhibition with our friends around the corner at Beach Burrito, Fortitude Valley on July 1st, from 6pm.
Painting the streets of Australia since 2005, Soda Mouf is inspired by pop, skateboard and 90’s hip-hop culture and draws influence from the world around him to create striking visual interpretations of everyday life. With a highly original style Soda Mouf uses somewhat dark, disturbing content juxtaposed with bright vibrant colours to produce his unique character paintings. His process usually involves him lurking around in the dark by himself at some ungodly hour of the night, methodically painting away with the occasional flash of a passing cars headlights to briefly illuminate his work for a split second.
Big shout to our girl Lusid Art for organising this exhibition, and a huge happy hola to our legendary mate on another promising solo show!
You can also catch Soda Mouf at Opposing Offenders - Crimes Against Humanity at The Culprit Club on July 15th from 6pm.
